The Coya Medical Weight Loss and Bariatric Program was founded in 1986 by the late Dr. Ivonne F. Torre-Coya, M.D. to assist patients with their weight loss and weight management needs and effort. Dr. Torre-Coya back in 1986 knew then that obesity and excess body weight and body fat as well as overeating were one of the main risk factors of many of today's chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, etc.
